What are the system requirements?
Currently, most Windows/Mac computer built since 2019 will be able to utilize all of the features of Tabyltop. We will gracefully reduce some of the more processor/GPU intensive operations for older computers (2016+) so even they should be able to use Tabyltop, however some features may be unavailable.
Actual specs will be published as we do additional testing and optimization.

Will there be an iPad/iOS/Desktop app?
Mobile devices are part of our road-map. At the same time, we want to be very deliberate in our pursuit of features. Our Kickstarter will help us define what features we should support and when. We are considering making an iPad app a stretch goal.
The current state of the web, and the current capabilities of most modern machines allow us to do 95% of what we desire within a browser. Native code would have significant advantages, however, we are not planning on native desktop apps for the time being.

What will be the cost for Tabyltop?
The final cost of Tabyltop hasn’t been decided, but it will be a recurring subscription model, and we are planning on offering a free tier that will allow any player to join a campaign. Tabyltop’s infrastructure cost is significantly more than something like Zoom or Roll20 (on a per user basis). Our pricing model needs to cover both development and infrastructure costs.

When will Tabyltop launch?
Tabyltop is currently still in active development, and our Kickstarter campaign will launch in 2023. A few months after the Kickstarter campaign ends, we aim to have a beta version of Tabyltop ready. The wide release is currently planned for 2024. Join our mailing list so you can take advantage of our Kickstarter early-bird tiers.

I’m an artist who creates content, how easy will it be for users to add my content to your platform?
Check out our blog post that discusses or phased approach for content hosting. Users, however, should be able to easily add content to the system. We support drag and drop from the desktop, copy and paste, and selecting from a library of assets. In the future we will continue to add functionality that makes it easy for content creators to add content to Tabyltop.
